POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units. This position will manage resources, project plans, and deliverables throughout the full project life cycle. The Senior Project Manager's responsibilities also include management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Senior Project Manager will understand our project governance and lifecycle steps.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scope and charter based on business needs, considering budget, schedule, resources, and goals.
  • Provide leadership, motivating the project team to meet goals and ensuring adherence to responsibilities and milestones.
  • Manage multiple projects, aligning them with strategic objectives and overseeing engagement aspects such as planning, resources, budget, and risks.
  • Lead and facilitate project team meetings, overseeing day-to-day project activities and resources.
  • Understand the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of project governance and project lifecycle steps.
  • Demonstrate functional acumen to align solutions with client goals and industry best practices. Ability to deep dive into new topics to more effectively lead projects with an operational lens
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes, resolving issues, conflicts, and critical path deliverables.
  • Understand financial mechanics of projects and how to translate information
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and issues effectively to various stakeholders. Deliver effective executive-level communication and build trusted adviser relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives to mature and elevate the IT PMO's project management capabilities
  • 25% travel may be required

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors' degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing and implementing large healthcare IT projects (15 or more people)
  • Experience working with senior leaders, executives, and business owners, and a proven track record of successful implementations
  • Experience analyzing business and systems needs to develop project plans including tasks, resource estimates, team members, deliverables (e.g. test and training plans), procedures and design documents
  • Prior Epic implementation/project management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and ServiceNow
