Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under direction of the Director of Psychology and with broad latitude for functioning independently, performs highly challenging and responsible clinical and administrative work and supervises the work of psychologists and psychology trainees. Chinese bilingual and bicultural competencies preferred.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1.Direct clinical work with adult population, especially challenging atypical cases.
2.Administrative responsibilities including coordinating or developing a new service or program.
3.Chinese bilingual and bicultural competencies preferred.
4.Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations.
5.Supervision of staff psychologists and psychology trainees.
6.Conducting seminars for training purposes.
7.Offering psychological consultation services to other departments or city agencies.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include providing direct clinical services to adults, especially difficult atypical cases with individual, group, and family therapies; utilizing bilingual and bicultural competencies; supervising clinical work of subordinates; training staff and students and leading case conferences; and coordinating administrative needs of a service program.

Minimum Qualifications

For Appointment to Assignment to Level II:
1. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED; or
2. Proof of passing licensing examination and proof that completed license application and all supporting documentation have been submitted to NYSED, which leads to licensure and registration, within six (6) months.

NY State licensure in Psychology

EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
Ph.D. or Psy.D.

KNOWLEDGEABLE IN:
Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology
Or Clinical Health Psychology

EQUIPMENT/MACHINES OPERATED:
Computer knowledge

COMPUTER PROGRAMS/SOFTWARE OPERATED
MS Office/Windows

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
1.Completion of doctoral degree.
2.Licensure qualifying or licensure preferred
