Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) in the Public Affairs Office's (PAO's) Communications and the Deputy Director for Sustainable Water Management, this Information Officer II position (hybrid) is responsible for performing the professional and technical tasks related to media relations, community outreach, and public affairs activities, focusing on DWR's Sustainable Groundwater Management Office (SGMO) which is responsible for the implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and other statewide groundwater management activities. This is an exciting, high-profile opportunity that needs the right strategic communicator!
This is a hybrid position - mainly remote, with two days a week required in the office. It is supported by other Information Officers, as well as in-house Graphic Designers, Photographers, and Videographers.
