Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) to join our team and provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) in a group setting. As a QMHS, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges and assisting them in developing the necessary skills to improve their overall well-being. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate group therapy sessions, implement evidence-based interventions, and provide support to participants in achieving their treatment goals. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in mental health services, experience in group facilitation, and a passion for empowering individuals in their journey towards recovery.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate group therapy sessions for individuals participating in Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) in a group setting.

- Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to promote participants' emotional well-being and personal growth.

- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans and goals for each participant.

- Provide individualized support and guidance to participants in achieving their treatment goals, including teaching coping skills, problem-solving techniques, and emotion regulation strategies.

- Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages open communication, active participation, and respect among group members.

- Utilize appropriate assessment tools and evaluation measures to monitor participants' progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.

- Document participant interactions, treatment progress, and any significant observations in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

- Collaborate with community resources, such as schools, healthcare providers, and social service agencies, to ensure comprehensive care and support for participants.

- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

- Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and regulations in mental health services, particularly related to group therapy and therapeutic interventions.

- Attend regular staff meetings, case conferences, and supervision sessions to enhance professional development and maintain a high standard of care.

- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in handling sensitive participant information.

- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including therapists, case managers, and psychiatrists, to provide holistic and integrated care to participants.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Ohio Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) certification or eligibility for certification required.

- Prior experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in group therapy facilitation.

- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and group dynamics.

- Familiarity with various mental health diagnoses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and behavioral disorders.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with participants and facilitate meaningful group discussions.

- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

- Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide non-judgmental support and guidance.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.

- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
