The Research Assistant will assist the Dean or a Faculty member of the Law School with various projects by utilizing library and internet resources to research topics and then summarize the findings. This position involves in-depth legal research and writing projects assigned by the Dean or a Faculty member.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain awareness of the law library's electronic and print resources.
  • Respond to research assistance questions submitted to LawRef@liberty.edu.
  • Meet with J.D. students for research consultation.
  • Develop FAQ entries based on content presented on library website and research guides.
  • Develop recommendations for providing research training to new law review students.

Qualifications and Credentials

Education and Experience
  • Current enrollment in Liberty University School of Law
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Legal research and writing experience
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of a routine and complex nature
  • Strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer systems

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
