SUMMARY
Musical accompanist for voice classes, dance classes, juries, student recitals, student showings, rehearsals and performances.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree or higher preferred.
Voice Accompaniment: private or college-level training in piano.
Dance Accompaniment: coursework in Anthropology, African Studies, Cultural Studies, Ethnomusicology or Folklore preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3 years experience as an accompanist required.
Dance Accompaniment: experience as an accompanist for dance classes, rehearsals and performances preferred.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.

- Accompany voice class and other related disciplines with piano.
- Rehearse and accompany students for solos performed in voice class and student recitals.
- Participate in and accompany student juries - vocal and instrumental.
- Accompany World dance classes and rehearsals.
- Rehearse with World Dance ensembles.
- Assist in choosing and maintaining Department musical instruments.
- Participate in student showings, concerts, and off campus events with classes and World Dance ensembles as needed.
- Leader of the music for the performing ensemble, including being lead for students selected for play musical accompaniment for classes.

- Advance skills in World music form(s).
- Advanced knowledge and ability to play World music repertoire for dance.
- Experience playing and knowledge of instrumental, vocal and choral repertoire.
- Advanced sight-reading skills.
- Demonstrated excellence as a collaborative performance and professional accompanist of World dance traditions.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills.
