Description

Provides support in a variety of the more complex, administrative and financial duties in accordance with standard procedures.

1. Initiates the creation of cost centers with Division of Research (DOR) according to the terms of awarded projects (grants) and modifies cost centers according to revised award notices.
2. Reconciles the unit's financial accounts, monitors expenditure budgets and participates in the annual budget development and review process.
3. Evaluates expenditure transfer documents according to federal, state and university guidelines for allowability, appropriateness and timeliness.
4. Compiles recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and faculty, advising on status of accounts. Serves as initial review of financial documents for accuracy and availability of funds.
5. May serve as liaison to Office of Grants and Contracts (OCG) regarding financial issues, as well as creating, analyzing and reviewing contracts in conjunction with the Research Contracts Officer/College Research Administrator and Community Grantees.
6. Provides guidance to department and college business administrators and faculty members on all fiscal and administrative grant-related matters.
7. Research sponsor's financial and administrative regulations applicable to funded projects.
8. Coordinates project related activities with project team, ensuring Grantee needs are addressed.
9. Ensures adherence to sponsor and institutional requirements, ensures observance of federal, state and university compliance requirements; verifies that all governmental certifications requirements are addressed.
10. Performs other job-related as duties as assigned.

The Graduate College of Social Work is hiring a post-award Research Support Coordinator that will provide a high level of customer service to our Principal Investigators. This position will work closely with assigned Principal Investigators, managing grant budgets and expenditures to include, but not limited to, personnel hiring and funding, contract administration, processing expenditure documents, and grant cost center verification.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
