JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will be focused on designing, developing, and delivering critical reports, dashboards and analytic solutions for our core business groups in support of marketing and strategic decision making. This is an opportunity to leverage your passion for analytics and business intelligence to add considerable business impact through delivery of critical BI solutions. You will team with diverse stakeholders across Finance, Marketing, Operations, Sales, IT teams, and external contractors and work closely with them to determine reporting requirements and translate them into appropriate reporting tools. The IT team will serve as a close partner as you assure the flow of valid data from the data warehouse to reporting tools and ensure accuracy and quality to BI reports.

In this role you will participate in data discovery and development of new data sets, coordination with multiple business partners and reporting teams to ensure alignment and consistency in data and report delivery as well as partnering to minimize duplication of efforts. You will maintain existing workflows and troubleshoot as necessary, partnering with internal and external partners on resolution. You will create reports and dashboards, respond to ad hoc requests, and contribute to roadmap planning and prioritizing. As part of a team defining the standard of excellence you will leverage best practices and seek continual improvement in both process and product delivery.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data and Technology
  • Create and automate data to support dashboards and reports for marketing and sales generally and marketing analytics specifically.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and certify existing data used to support dashboards and reports.
  • Act as a data steward for specified data and reports including coordinating with data governance and maintaining documentation.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reports to support marketing and sales and marketing generally and marketing analytics specifically.
  • Participate in strategic roadmap, design, and development discussions for both data and reporting products.

Analysis and Insights
  • Perform QA validation on new and existing data and dashboards.
  • Analyze requirements to determine appropriate data source, enhancements or adjustments, and make recommendations.
  • Perform analysis on data sets to determine appropriate visualizations to support business decision making taking into account the responsibilities of and relevancy to the specific audience.
  • Support ad hoc data and report requests from both business users and analytics partners.

Partnership and Process
  • Communicate effectively with partners from differing perspectives, with differing levels of technical and business understanding to align on data and dashboard needs.
  • Provide and present recommendations on solution design for data and dashboard products.
  • Provide project updates and communicate challenges and successes in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas of opportunity, sharing best practices, and implementing agreed upon changes.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or Economics.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of experience with database queries and report and dashboard creation preferably in support of marketing and sales functions in the consumer entertainment, travel, or amusement park industry.
  • Strong background in all aspects of database technology, with an emphasis on the use of analytical and reporting tools.
  • 3+ years and advanced proficiency with SQL Programming, R and Python or similar tools. Preference for Snowflake experience.
  • Experience using standard ETL & ELT practices in data development.
  • 3+ years developing executive level and operational dashboards using tools such as Tableau, COGNOS, PowerBI. Preference for PowerBI experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to take detailed requirements and convert into actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to work directly with internal departments towards issue resolution/project release.
  • Ability to evaluate quantitative data sets and determine "big picture" implications required.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Certifications in Alteryx, Snowflake, PowerBI, and PowerAutomate preferred.
