Job Description:

The Business Intelligence and Data Management department of the IMS Segment is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and leading data & analytics teams, strategies, and intiatives. This individual needs to have a working knowledge of data warehouse management, data analytics project management, BI tools and tool administration, and dashboard design, development, and implementation. This individual needs to be passionate and skilled at leading teams and working to improve the data culture within the business. They will work closely with other team members, application developers, and the business and functional data owners. The BI Director will develop the IMS data & analytics strategy that will help programs, employees, and leaders make strategic and tactical business decisions and improve program performance. The BI Director will be a strategic partner with fellow BI leaders collaborating on enterprise data governance and related initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and direct IMS data and analytics strategy, architecture, and budgets; coordinate resources for the development of solutions
  • Establish, promote, and execute an IMS Business Intelligence (BI) vision/plan to enable strategic decision making throughout all levels of the organization, working closely with data owners, business subject matter experts, and cross functional leadership teams to ensure that high business value BI solutions are planned and executed
  • Coordinate cross-functionally and cross-segment with BI teams and IT to ensure resource optimization, synchronization of initiatives, and to prevent duplication of work across the enterprise
  • Represent IMS Segment on enterprise-wide data governance committee
  • Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations to executive, remote, and unfamiliar audiences
  • Up to 10% Travel

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field and minimum 15 years of prior experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior experience
  • Experience working with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake) and developing SQL queries on large data sets
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service or another business intelligence tool (e.g., Tableau Desktop Professional, Tableau Server, Qlik)
  • Experience utilizing ETL development tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory) and troubleshooting ETL processes
  • Experience leading data and analytics teams
  • Experience with data engineering, data science, and BI developer career paths: expert in at least one area from personal work experience and working knowledge of the others and their interdependencies
  • Expert in the end to end analytics process, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of data related issues at every stage of the analytics process
  • Expert in analytics maturity models and strong working knowledge of each phase (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, perscriptive)
  • Expert in data governance best practices and experience leading data governance intiatives
  • Ability to translate data-related requirements into innovative user solutions, drawing on prior education and experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis, including manipulating and interpreting large data sets to provide analysis and draw conclusions
