Summary

This position will oversee operations for commercial support funding research, acquisition of external commercial support funding, and funding outcomes for BCM Division of Continuing Professional Development (DCPD) conferences, enduring materials, quality improvement initiatives, maintenance of certification programming, and other educational initiatives in support of BCM departments and external partners including products for deployment on the Baylor College of Medicine Clinicians Resources Platform.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid arrangement within the Greater Houston, TX area.

Job Duties

  • Analyze research and development pipeline of manufacturers, examine market trends, and prepare forecasts for educational support.
  • Research Pharmaceutical Market Intelligence: Identify major pharmaceutical players within the therapeutic landscape through publications, landscape reports, press releases, and market intelligence sites.
  • Identify Funding Sources: Determine if there is current funding available by checking the funding support sites of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.
  • Evaluate and optimize marketing and funding proposal strategies to manufacturers.
  • Generate new business support leads.
  • Increase brand awareness and market share for BCM and BCM educational products among potential commercial supporters.
  • Coordinate marketing and funding strategies responsive to the educational activity development goals and initiatives from departments, external partners, and for the Clinician Resources Platform.
  • Develop and manage the Relationship Marketing for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturers budget and the budgets for use of funding across educational activities and the outcomes and reconciliations.
  • Integrate funding initiatives with branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns for educational activities ensuring compliance.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience in working in a medical education communication company or publishing company or academic center producing grant proposals involving conducting research on the latest drugs and guidelines to craft background, needs analysis, educational interventions, and outcomes measurements; successfully securing funding and attracting pharmaceutical support; collaborating with subject matter experts to develop and deliver educational activities in a variety of formats; quality assurance testing; tracking funding outcomes and reporting; and developing strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations, significantly expanding educational program reach and impact.
  • Experience working with an accreditation or credentialing organization preferred.
  • Strong commitment to balancing service with regulatory functions.
  • Exemplary customer service approach in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled problem solver, with an ability to adapt to changing priories and heavy workloads.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with rigorous attention to detail.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires mastery of pharmacy and pharmaceutical science, relationships with manufacturers and working knowledge of systems for funding acquisition in the private sector and foundations established by manufacturers in industry.
