This position is a 12 month limited term position. It may become permanent, be extended or be canceled at any time.
This position is remote-centered and is eligible for telework up to 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Under the general direction of the Chief Information Officer (Information Technology Manager I), the incumbent will perform a wide variety of database administration, including maintenance of database systems. Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of production and development databases. Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity planning to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands. Develop complex queries and ETL processes within Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other commercial database platforms. Additional duties will include development and maintenance of database documentation, including data dictionaries, schema diagrams, and other technical documentation.
