Job Description
The Senior Director of Accounts Receivable will serve as a leader in Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) operations. The position will serve as the system leader in accounts receivable, payer claiming process, pre-billing claiming and automation initiatives.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration or an approved related program and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.

Job Description
The Senior Director of Accounts Receivable will serve as a leader in Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) operations. The position will serve as the system leader in accounts receivable, payer claiming process, pre-billing claiming and automation initiatives.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Leader in Revenue Cycle Services Patient Accounting operations with responsibility for pre-billing workflow; edit efficiency, timely filing, denials, claims testing, claim scrubbing, and all workflow associated with claiming to all payers
- Identify and implement improvement projects to increase operational efficiency and revenue of hospital claiming
- Continue development of NYC H+H process automations within Revenue Cycle
- Work with Epic, EITS and hospital's Patient Accounting Directors to identify and correct edits and stop bills applied inappropriately or omitted that impact timely filing
- Review changes to claiming standards for government payer and NYC H+H contracts to configure claims correctly and insure compliance and
- Implement workflow reconfiguration as needed resulting from state, federal and payer actions that impacting hospital claiming
- Develop a close partnership with EITS to make changes to claims configurations, edits and operation of Epic to ensure claims are sent as required
- Participate in Joint Operating Committee meetings with payers to advocate for workflow that enhances H+H's ability to process claims
- Continue development of reporting, benchmarking and trending of KPIs, by H+H system, hospital and payer to identify opportunities
- Standardize and document optimal Patient Accounting workflow, thresholds for actions and performance standards.
- Identify areas that require targeted training opportunities for patient accounting teams
- Coordinate staff training on identified topics with the Revenue Cycle Institute
- Provide guidance and assistance to Vendor Operations and improving workflow and outcomes of outsourced accounts.
- Responsible for developing clear team goals and objectives and the creation of key metrics and milestones to measure outcomes
- Collaborate closely with the leadership teams of; Finance, EITS, Managed Care and the hospitals
- all other assignments as needed

Department Preferences
- Patient Accounting experience in a hospital setting
- Direct hospital claiming experience
- Experience in Epic Hospital Billing
- Knowledge of healthcare clearinghouses
