American Express Technology is a critical Enterprise function, serving as the backbone of all we do, from providing the underlying infrastructure of the company to building core products and services we deliver to our customers. Amex Technology has changed dramatically over the last few years, and as Technology continues to evolve its business strategies and operating model, the Finance organization will also need to evolve. This role will be part of the Technology Finance Strategy & Transformation team, which partners closely with the Technology organization in achieving strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will interact across the Finance community and work closely with Product, Portfolio, and Technology leadership teams to drive achievement of strategic initiatives that involve both Tech investment and operations products. The primary responsibilities of this role will include data-driven analytics and insights that help to shape Technology's strategies as well as supporting implementation of new financial processes. Budgeting, forecasting, and the monitoring and reporting of risk & opportunities to both project and business case financial assumptions are also required.
How will you make an impact in this role?
· Support financial analysis and reporting for multi-year enterprise initiatives and other large projects by defining/creating KPIs, reporting requirements, cost transparency & optimization, and driving agile budgeting/forecasting processes.
· Create, implement, and maintain proforma financials for large strategic initiatives.
· Support project management for initiatives that increase business efficiencies and/or support the implementation of new financial processes.
· Perform strategic analyses to turn data into insightful, actionable information that guides business decisions.
· Collaborate with other finance and technology teams to ensure strategic objectives are met within budgeted costs.
Minimum Qualifications:
· 3+ years of relevant Finance / Business work experience.
· Strong financial, analytical, and project management skills.
· Understanding of P&Ls, financial metrics, cost drivers, and forecast methodologies.
· Demonstrated experience synthesizing large amounts of complex data with the ability to draw key conclusions.
· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint are required.
· Bachelor's degree (Finance / Accounting / Data Analytics).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Power BI, TM1 (IBM Planning Analytics) and understanding of relational database and SQL coding is preferred.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
