JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Learning & Development Specialist will have deep experience in instructional design, training delivery, and project/program management. This role is vital in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality learning experiences to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees. As part of the Human Resources team, the Senior L&D Specialist will report to the Manager of Organizational Development and work closely with a diverse range of teammates, business leaders, HR managers, and SMEs, both in the office and the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• In collaboration with the OD Manager, develop, evaluate, pilot and deliver new learning programs and experiences.
• Coordinate and facilitate existing training programs including in-person classes, virtual experiences, and e-learning courses.
• Maintain training materials, schedules, calendars, logistics, and participant records.
• Create and maintain program materials, including but not limited to job aids, quick reference guides, tools, resources, and presentation decks.
• Assist with evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the learning management system to ensure optimal performance, user experience, and data integrity.
• Partner with vendors to integrate tools and innovative platforms into existing programs and initiatives.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong understanding of adult learning principles with previous instructional design experience.
• Seasoned facilitator and platform presenter

• Ability to simplify the complex, present a compelling story, and deliver on programs with consistent execution.

• Open to new ideas and willing to experiment; adjusts appropriately as needed.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills necessary to collaborate and influence all levels of the organization.
• Able to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with a high degree of initiative and personal responsibility.
• Industry certifications such as ATD, SHRM, DDI, Franklin Covey, CCL, Hogan, Birkman preferred
• Experience in using course authoring software (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc).
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or another technical field is preferred.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce high-quality deliverables.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors' degree required, preferably in human resources, business, or related area.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, 7 years of experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Percent of Travel Required: 10% - 20%; Travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training.
