SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) - SIERRA DISTRICT / LAKE TAHOE SECTOR

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. The reporting location is the Sierra District Museum Collections Office at Sugar Pine Point State Park. Daily work locations will vary with specific assignments throughout the Sector. Employment is typically 5 days a week from May to October but may extend into off-season if desired. The hours are typically 8 am to 4:30 pm. Multiple positions are available.

Under the direct supervision of the District Museum Curator II, the Senior Maintenance Aide for Museum Collections is responsible for assisting with general museum collections care and records maintenance in compliance with departmental collections management policies. The position requires the ability to analyze situations accurately, take effective actions, and complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

Experience in custodial duties and working around works of art and antiques is desired but not necessary; housekeeping schedule and training will be provided. Travel within the District's locations could be required to assist with seasonal duties.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Working Conditions

• Working in the interior and exteriors of non-historic and historic structures around historic artifacts.

• Exposed to cleaning products, dust, mold, and waste from rodents and other pests.

• Frequent use of computer and a variety of office software applications including "The Museum System" (TMS) at a workstation or remotely.

• Occasional to frequent work outside of office.

• May be exposed to extreme weather and traffic conditions.

• Work week is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend or evening assignments

• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and sit/stand for long period of time.
