Sr. Project Manager

Procom is currently seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead multiple projects at a major power plant facility. This role involves overseeing the planning, design, and construction of projects aimed at enhancing plant safety, environmental quality, reliability, and efficiency. This is an onsite contract position set to last 7 months with the possibility of extensions.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Project Manager will manage a wide range of capital and O&M projects, from initiation through completion. This position requires a deep understanding of project management principles and practices and the ability to apply them effectively in a power generation context.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the planning, design, and construction of multiple projects, ensuring they meet safety, schedule, budget, scope, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate team activities including chartering, problem-solving, and process improvement.
  • Develop and submit detailed project plans, business cases, and justifications.
  • Negotiate with vendors and contractors to ensure all commitments are met according to the scope of work.
  • Monitor design and construction activities for compliance with contracts, industry codes, and quality standards.
  • Develop and oversee startup & testing procedures for project commissioning.
  • Train operating and maintenance personnel on new systems.
  • Provide expert guidance to power generation operations and maintenance teams.
  • Analyze project data and generate comprehensive reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience in power generation.
  • Extensive project management experience, capable of managing large-scale, high-risk projects independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and train other project managers and team members.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in the power generation industry, particularly in overseeing plant infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced ability to develop strategic project plans and presentations for senior management.
