The Global IMPACT team-*I*ntegrated *M*arketing, *P*artnerships, *A*ction, *C*ommunications, and *T*he Climate Pledge (TCP)-establishes Amazon's leadership in corporate sustainability by demonstrating how we use our size and scale to have a positive impact on people and the planet. This team works both within Amazon and externally on partnerships and joint initiatives.

The Sustainability Impact Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to the impact of the company's sustainability initiatives and programs. This role plays a crucial part in driving data-driven decision-making and identifying opportunities for improvement in the company's sustainability efforts.

Key job responsibilities

• Gather and consolidate sustainability data from internal systems, external databases, and stakeholder reports.

• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency through data cleaning and validation processes.

• Maintain a centralized data repository for sustainability information.

• Create a scalable, regular, and easily digestible mechanism to update teams on data insights.

• Analyze complex sustainability data using statistical techniques, data mining, and visualization tools.

• Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to uncover insights and improvement opportunities.

• Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the company's sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing sustainability programs by measuring their impact and progress against benchmarks and KPIs.

• Identify areas for optimization and process improvements within sustainability programs.

• Provide data-driven recommendations and actionable insights to support the development and enhancement of sustainability strategies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement data-driven sustainability goals and targets aligned with the company's vision.

• Contribute to sustainability reports and disclosures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of SQL experience

- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
