The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team capitalizes on Amazon's scale, speed, and ability to invent and simplify to create a better and more resilient company. The ESG-eX team's mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted ESG reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholders' expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their ESG reporting obligations and effectively manage their ESG opportunities and risks.

The Worldwide Sustainability ESG Reporting team is looking for a detail focused, results-oriented and collaborative individual to support building Amazon's global ESG disclosure processes and tools to enable the rapid production of trustworthy and useful ESG reports.

This individual will work cross functionally to understand our ESG programs and key metrics so that they can scale our regulatory ESG reporting infrastructure.

You will be responsible for delivering Amazon's regulatory ESG reports in a rapidly evolving global regulatory environment. This will involve building external reporting tools and processes, collecting key metrics from partner teams, and presenting the results to senior leadership on legal, accounting and finance teams.

Your experience in cross-team coordination, project management, and change management skills will be essential.

To do well in this role, you must be able to confidently handle complex projects and timelines and provide a point of view in situations of high ambiguity. You must also show good judgment and continually improve Amazon's business model, and emerging ESG reporting requirement best practices.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement tools to enable and simplify the creation of ESG reports that are grounded in financial reporting best practices.

• Design robust processes for collecting and aggregating data from multiple source systems and work with partner teams to implement them.

• Assess management reporting systems and document proposed enhancements to enable close capabilities, data lineage and legal entity allocations.

• Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the assigned projects.

• Travel up to 25%.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives, using data and KPIs

- Expertise working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams, especially in the accounting space

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree, or MBA in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

- 5+ years of program or project management experience in ESG or financial reporting

- Experience in stakeholder management in software/tech implementations, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

- Experience with ESG Reporting platforms (like Workiva)

- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

- Experience simplifying processes and creating detailed technical requirements for automation in accounting organizations

- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
