Description
The Leidos Spatial Solutions team has an opening for an experienced Senior System Engineer with Linux system administration experience to work on an on-premise system with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operation and sustainment of a mission-critical geospatial solution supporting DoD end users. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of an on-premise system. The candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner. This is a hybrid role that allows working remotely 1-2 days per week depending on customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot issues; proactively recommend configuration changes to help improve system performance; regularly work with government and contractor POCs to keep systems security compliant; and author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; OR additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must currently possess an active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post hire
  • Must meet DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
  • Must have Linux administration experience provisioning end users
  • Strong understanding of NGA Networking
  • Proficient reviewing and remediating STIG/IAVA scans
  • Experience performing Virtual Machine backups/snapshots
  • Experience working with Security to support ISCP exercises
  • Experience scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
  • Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat certification(s)
  • Linux certification(s)
  • Agile Certification(s)
  • Experience using AWS/Cloud technologies
  • Experience implementing automation solutions to reduce engineering and/or end user labor time

Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
