Volt is immediately hiring for a Service Manager with a local leading company in Bakersfield, CA

As a Service Manager, you will:
  • Run an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service department staff.
  • Manage vacation and sick requests for your direct reports
  • draft disciplinary write-ups for time-reporting violations.
  • Prepare, and hold quarterly performance check in's with all service department staff every quarter.
  • Prepares and administers annual operating budget for the service department
  • Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the factory.
  • Monitor and control the department's performance using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan that promotes new and repeat business.
  • Maintains knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-know, Etc.
  • Has an understanding of compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Account for all documents; ensure that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed.
  • Monitors and follows up on all parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability.
  • Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
  • Initials all repair orders before submitting them to the warranty department, monitoring for sales and hours relative to expectations.
  • Informs repair technicians of time allowance on each repair order.
  • Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
  • Keeps informed on new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases as needed.
  • Renews, maintains and ensures shop software programs are kept up to date.
  • Serve as a liaison with factory representatives
  • Prepares pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain 24-hour follow-ups with all customers to confirm satisfaction with their experience.
  • Holds weekly department meetings
  • Attends manager meetings.
Service Manager Candidates must meet the following requirements for Consideration:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2 or more years of related experience
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership/Management experience
  • Budgeting and Forecasting experience.
This is a Full time Direct Hire opportunity

Schedule is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30PM or 8am-4:30 pm

Pay for this position is $80,000- $90,000 per year D.OE.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
