A top automotive client in the area is looking for a Site Project Engineer to join the plant operations team providing technical expertise for their new site in Greensboro, NC. This resource will serve as the subject matter expert related to ACS (Architectural, Civil, and Structural) systems to investigate building industry trends, automotive plant trends, and current/past issues to introduce innovation and improvements. Responsibilities will also include the following:

1.Facilitate civil and structural installations & commissioning activities.

2. Provide subject matter expert assistance in review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, & contractor generated RFIs.

3. Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for civil and structural installations including but not limited to Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, & arc flash safety.

4. Possess extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards (including but not limited to: IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).

5. Work with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning & handover to end users.

6. Coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, & manufacturing shops.

7. Conduct work progress inspections on a continual basis.

8. Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.

9. Conduct inspections and observations of civil and structural building systems for compliance with project specifications quality standards, & applicable codes.

10. Oversee work of civil and structural contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, & coordination with other groups.

11. Prepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers.

12. Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards

Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in the field
- 2+ years in construction management.
- Experience creating criteria development for civil & structural systems.
- Experience working within the industrial or manufacturing industry
- Experience with Bluebeam or similar software

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Automotive experience
- Professional Engineering License
- Ability to create drawings through CAD or similar software
