Job Description

To provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors alike. The Special/Hospital Police Officer may also eject/arrest persons violating New York State Laws, as well as those laws of the City of New York. The officer must further be familiar in a variety of NYS Laws, NYC Laws, corporate policies, and individual facility rules and regulations. The ultimate goal of the special officer is the protection of life and property.

• Maintain post and perform related duties.
• Patrol interior and exterior grounds (this is inclusive if foot and vehicular patrol)
• Apprehension and arrest of law violators/arrest processing and documentation.
• Execution of warrants, orders of protection and other court orders.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State motor vehicle driver license may be required for appointment to certain positions based on the operational needs of the facility. If required, this license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

As a Special Officer, your Hiring in Rate is $36,955. Special Officers will be entitled to receive annual increases until they have met the current maximum rate of $53,264 after five years.
