Responsibilities
This position provides office, planning, and administrative services for the Native American and Indigenous Studies Center (NAIS) by implementing and executing systems, procedures, and policies, and monitoring projects. Provide high-level administrative support to the Director and perform office operations for the center to include gathering and processing information of resources, reports, and data; interpret and advise on university(s) policies and procedures; analyze and recommend actions regarding internal administrative operations and processes; schedule and maintain appointments and calendars; process and route appropriate communications; maintain inventory of office supplies; etc.
Provide continuity and respond to management and administrative needs of the NAIS Director. Participate in and coordinate the recruitment and hiring of new staff and assistants. Supervise and manage the operational aspects of academic, fiscal, administration, purchasing, travel, human resources, payroll administration, and property control functions for the organization unit.
Maintains the NAIS website and provides website assistance to NAIS affiliates. Coordinates and works with the Florida State University marketing project team to optimize performance by providing clear purpose, direction, and motivation.Maintains the NAIS website and provides website assistance to NAIS affiliates. Serves as project manager processing and building center-specific processes, tracks Center projects/programs, and tracks research across the university. Guides projects from initial requirements definition through deployment, overseeing schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, while actively managing and mitigating risks.
Organize and execute activities, trainings, conferences, workshops, guest lectures, and other special events for the NAIS center and other collaborative community and University education and engagement opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years experience or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
