Insight Global is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer in Northern California to support a large Engineering Firm. . The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing junior staff, coordinating geotechnical tasks, managing medium to large size geotechnical projects, reviewing construction submittals, performing geotechnical engineering analyses, preparing geotechnical reports, mentoring junior staff, preparing contract specifications and drawings, and interacting with external clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct junior staff to perform field activities including geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, and construction observations with subcontractors.
- Coordinate geotechnical tasks and manage medium to large size geotechnical projects.
- Review construction submittals and daily field reports.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and prepare geotechnical reports for the design and construction of shallow and deep foundations.
- Review work of and mentor junior staff.
- Prepare contract specifications and drawings.
- Interact with external clients and subcontractors.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of related experience.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks and junior staff.
Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, gINT, Slide/SlopeW, L-Pile, Group, Shake 2000/Deepsoil, GRL WEAP, Settle 3D, Phase2/Plaxis.
Familiarity with ground improvement methods.
Willingness to mentor younger staff.
Public sector client experience.
Construction experience.
