Description

The OnSite Energy & Power team is looking for a Staff Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support projects for distributed energy plants for institutional and industrial clients, including electric, steam, chilled water, hot water, and cogeneration plants. The Staff I&C Engineer will be able to independently perform I&C engineering activities for small to medium multi-disciplinary projects for new or existing facilities or controls upgrade projects for existing facilities.

The Staff I&C Engineer will be responsible for performing the following activities:
  • Assist in I&C studies, including site walkdown, scope development, stakeholder interviews, vendor selection, cost estimate development and develop written reports.
  • Support the development Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).
  • Support the development Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Specifications.
  • Development of Instrument Lists.
  • Develop Instrument Procurement Specifications.
  • Develop Instrument Data Sheets.
  • Develop Instrument Installation Details.
  • Develop Instrument Location Plans.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) Specifications.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) System Architecture Diagram.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) I/O List.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) Control Narratives.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) Logic Diagrams.
  • Develop Control System (DCS and/or PLC) Graphics Diagrams.
  • Develop Control System Network Drawings.
  • Develop I&C Connection/Loop Diagrams.
  • For assigned procurement contracts (e.g., Instrumentation, Control Systems, CEMS/PEMS).
  • Develop Approved Vendors Lists.
  • Coordinate with procurement to develop RFQ documentation.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor submittals.
  • Perform software and hardware configuration with various platforms, including Rockwell.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Provide technical assistance during commissioning at project site.
  • Perform quality reviews of project submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering from accredited program required.
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, AutoCAD). Valid driver's license required.
  • In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy. Ability to travel.EEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans
