Under supervision, incumbents perform work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical staff services assignments such as program evaluation and planning; systems development; budgeting; planning; training; management; and personnel analysis; and do other related work. Work at this level is distinguished from lower-level assignments by the analytical and evaluative nature of the work, rather than the performance of process-oriented assignments.

Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Kern Valley State Prison is currently canvassing for the Staff Services Analyst (General) classification.

One vacancy and any other Limited Term vacancies that may occur during the life of the certification list.

All hires are subject to Hiring Freeze and/or Budget Approval. This position will be filled with established hiring restrictions and may require the position to be filled on a Limited Term basis with the possibility of being extended and/or becoming Permanent/Full-Time.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department testing on an annual basis thereafter.
