We are looking for a passionate and fearless Store Designer who will play a key role in delivering on the promise of our retail client's innovative retail experience. Collaborating with the store design team and cross-functional partners, this position contributes to their success by elevating the overall quality of store design to uphold the experience while meeting cost, schedule, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working through the complexities of problem solving for a unique site condition as they are with maintaining a relentless eye for the overall best design solution for any given project scope. Project types include both new and existing stores.
Simplified Day-to-Day
1. Planning and Design Phase
* Design Planning: Create interior layouts and storefront designs based on Sephora's standards and specific site conditions
* Project Scope Development: Define project requirements by reviewing building codes, tenant criteria, and merchandise needs to ensure all necessary elements are included in the design.
2. Project Coordination and Documentation Phase
* Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Merchandising, and Property Development teams to ensure all design needs are met throughout the project.
* Consultant Management: Oversee external architects and engineers to keep projects on schedule and ensure documents are accurate for landlord review, permitting, and bids.
* Drawing Review: Ensure all drawings meet Sephora's design standards and incorporate necessary changes. Maintain accuracy throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely construction.
3. Approval and Permitting Phase
* Permit and Approval: Expedite permit and landlord approvals. Act as the main contact between Sephora and tenant coordinators. Track permit approvals to ensure construction starts on schedule.
4. Construction Phase
* Construction Monitoring: Communicate with construction managers and consultants to address any on-site issues or changes quickly and efficiently.
5. Post-Construction Phase
* Industry Insights: Provide fresh perspectives and industry insights to continually improve store design and functionality

Required Skills & Experience
5-7 years of related experience in Retail Design
Exceptional project management experience (Owning lifecycle from architecture, to documentation, to permitting, to construction)
Highly proficient with AutoCAD
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite [In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator], Smartsheet, and BOX
Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners (vendors, merchandising, real estate, landlords, etc.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experienced with one or more computer visualization tools [SketchUp, Rhino, 3DS MAX].
Design Project Management experience
