Primary Responsibilities

Our team focuses on the modeling and design of stormwater management, flood mitigation, erosion mitigation, and stream restoration projects, with opportunities to work on all project phases from master planning, design, and construction.

As a Stormwater/ Water Resources Engineer, you'll be responsible for taking a lead role in the development and delivery of stormwater projects in Southern California. This role is responsible for planning and design of stormwater and drainage projects including, but not limited to:

  • Stormwater management facilities
  • Site drainage
  • Storm drain improvements
  • Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GI)
  • Best Management Practices (BMPs) for water quality treatment
  • Low-impact development
  • Green Streets
  • Perform watershed and water quality assessments and BMP prioritization
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of stormwater facilities
  • Perform other duties as needed


In this role, you will work closely with other engineers to prepare both planning level and design level projects including reports and contract/bid documents, and work collaboratively with other design disciplines and subconsultants to provide integrated solutions. This role reports to and works closely with the Stormwater Business Class Lead.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • California Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • A minimum of 5 years civil engineering experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design of stormwater and drainage projects
  • Experience with low-impact development
  • Experience with the design of BMPs, including infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and underground stormwater vaults
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Southern California


Preferred Qualifications

  • MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Experience
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Preference will be given to local candidates
