POSITION SUMMARY

Assists Project Management and Safety Team, with the task assignments related to safety, quality of work, equipment utilization and productivity. Assist VP of Field Operations and Project Management Team with the project team assignment. Develop and maintain WB Best Practices and reduce variation within the field operations of WB.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Capable of overseeing millwright and rigging crews of 20+
  • Can coordinate with internal purchasing, sourcing, and equipment management for proper and timely management of the same to and from jobsites.
  • Familiar with and capable of directing the use of and operating machinery rigging equipment and tooling such as but not limited to dollies, jacks, lift trucks, scissors lifts, and other powered material handling equipment.
  • Properly selecting gear such as slings, shackles, chokers, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules and develop lift plans as required for the same
  • Read Blueprints, schematics and other technical documents and execute floor layouts and the setting of equipment elevations from provided drawings.
  • Understand complex material handling systems, equipment, motors, and alignment of the same and capable of working on and installation of the same.
  • Working knowledge of and capable of using alignment and leveling tooling such as Brunson, K&E, Rotalign and others a plus.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Test, inspect, and store all rigging to ensure safety and reliability daily and mentor others on the same.
  • Direct the support of all craft levels while providing training and oversight on the site.
  • Coordinate and ensure all tasks are completed on time and safely.

Minimum of 10 years working in the industry and in manufacturing facilities.

ID21Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED- required
  • Associate degree in construction related field - desirable
  • Vocational or technical training/work experience in construction- required
  • 10-years equipment rigging and/or Ironwork - required

  • Planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work tasks, processes, and teams for entire sub-contracted job scope.
  • Analyzing and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and various construction documents.
  • Measuring and calculating square/cubic feet precisely.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Communicating/reporting with client representatives, executive managers, project managers, project engineers, field engineers, foremen and work teams.
  • Analyzing, supervising, and guiding the completion of site safety and work-task plans.
  • Recognizing and correcting/teaching job site hazards.
  • Making judgments and decisions.
  • Listening, speaking, reading and writing at a basic level.
  • Thinking logically and critically.
  • Seeing and interpreting details close up and far away.
  • Focusing consistently on safety, quality, production, and innovation.
  • Interacting with other trades or subcontractors.
  • Supervising work crews to install formwork, install reinforcing materials, and place/finish concrete

  • Journeyman/Master Craftsman Status - preferred

  • Powder actuated tool certification - desirable
  • All-terrain material handler certification - desirable
  • Aerial lift certification - desirable
  • WB Supervisory Training and other certifications up through Superintendent Level - preferred
  • Other technical certifications and/or diplomas - desirable
