NIMHD Recruiting for multiple Supervisory Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer), GS-0601-15 Positions
NIMHD is seeking exceptional candidates for the positions of supervisory GS-15 Supervisory Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer) within DCHSR, DCHPS, and DIBBS with strong scientific expertise in performing or leading research that expands the understanding of the health characteristics of racial/ethnic minority groups or other populations with health disparities and/or improving minority health and reducing health disparities.
Because of the cross-cutting mission of NIMHD, candidates to this position are expected to embrace and champion scientific areas within the Division's scope of work and beyond their area(s) of interest and expertise. The incumbents will serve as expert Supervisory Health Scientist Administrators (Program Officer) responsible for providing scientific and technical leadership and direction to promote high-quality research that addresses gaps in knowledge in minority health, and in areas of high public health relevance for populations that experience health disparities, as well as mentor and supervise program officials within NIMHD's three extramural divisions.

The Ideal candidate
- For DCHSR, candidates must have substantial experience in clinical research (e.g., clinical trials or interventions, translational medicine), and/or health services and/or health care policy research, particularly as it relates to health/health care disparities. Having current or recent clinical care experience will be a plus.
- For DCHPS, candidates must have substantial experience in research on interpersonal, family, neighborhood, community and societal-level mechanisms and pathways that influence disease risk, resilience, morbidity, and mortality in health disparity populations.
- For DIBBS, candidates must have substantial experience in biobehavioral and/or social science. Candidates with multidisciplinary experience in biological sciences, behavioral sciences and or social sciences particularly as it relates to minority health and health disparities are encouraged to apply.
