Job Description

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise for implementation and enhancements to Biomedical systems used at H + H. The selected individual will be responsible for implementing components of biomedical systems for all facilities. This individual will build and test the functions that are needed for our biomedical systems integration with Epic. This position reports to the Director, Biomedical Systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements the integration of biomedical systems along with the implementation of Epic. Ensures that the appropriate biomedical systems are in place to interface with Epic in an optimal manner.
  • Performs the testing of new biomedical devices and integration technology.
  • Configures biomedical systems middleware to be able to interface with Epic using the required middleware.
  • Resolves integration problems with biomedical applications and Epic.
  • Contributes to the testing effort for biomedical systems implementation.
  • Builds and tests a configuration that supports high availability and disaster recovery across our two data centers.
  • Ensures that changes implemented are managed and documented. Document all work performed including software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines, and other materials.
  • Performs application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects. Arrange for systems and application training.
  • Works with other team members and departments to coordinate activities.
  • This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform the required work within 48 hours.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.

Department Preferences

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of computer and communications hardware capabilities and utilization, clinical applications, programming languages, systems and programming methodology, database management and information retrieval techniques

Years of Experience:
  • One-year experience in the integration of biomedical systems and electronic medical record systems, preferably with Epic.


EQUIPMENT/MACHINES OPERATED:
  • General Office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, phones)
  • Experience with bedside monitoring devices, ventilators, anesthesia machines, ultrasound machines, etc.
