The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPS) at the College of Pharmacy, University of Houston, is inviting applications for a full-time technical assistant position in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the day-to-day research efforts in the lab as the technical assistant for the research group. This includes conducting animal models and preparing project-related data for publications in the areas of drug metabolism and transport, drug delivery, bioanalysis of drugs, and drug-induced toxicity. Additionally, the technical assistant will be involved in maintaining regulatory compliance for ongoing and future animal research within a large research group.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting other members of the research team, including staff, post-docs, and graduate students, as required.
  • Conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments.
  • Processing and analyzing biological samples using UPLC and spectrophotometer/fluorimeter.
  • Collecting and analyzing data.
  • Preparing progress reports, manuscripts, and conducting literature reviews.
  • Organizing the laboratory.
  • Applicants should be prepared to perform all duties described in the assigned projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, or other relevant fields with 1 more years of research experience in an academic or industry setting.
