Own Your Future. Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Test Engineer who will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to AFRL for technology development projects.

How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:
As a Test Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for providing test planning support to cutting-edge technologies for the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). You will sit in the AFRL customer facility and be an integral part of a combined government/contractor team developing and demonstrating new capabilities for the U.S. Air Force.

Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
• Provide test planning expertise to U.S. Air Force and Space Force customers for advanced technology development related to R&D, acquisition, development and testing of cutting-edge technologies
• Assist the AFRL customer with creation of developmental and operational test processes, planning and execution of test events
• Contribute to test planning working groups, technical interchanges, and day-to-day interactions with small government and industry teams
• Create test plans, coordinate test planning, and perform data collection and analysis of test results
• Provide technical expertise to the lead project engineer and make technical recommendations to the project engineers
• Assist with identifying and mitigating technical, cost, and schedule risks to projects
• Analyze end user requirements and provide recommendations based on scientific results and developmental risks
• Evaluate proposed projects for feasibility and applicability to relevant miliary mission areas
• Participate in strategic planning and development of systems architectures
• Generate documents, briefings, roadmaps, and planning materials to support the customer mission
• Work closely with program managers, lead project engineers, and program teams
• Up to 20% travel in support of testing and technical exchange meetings

Qualifications:

Qualifications Required:

• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
• 8-10 years' experience with flight test planning and execution of cutting-edge capabilities
• Demonstrate ability to lead test management tasks; including the planning, resourcing, execution, and reporting of system test projects
• Experience handling information, data, and equipment at classification levels
• Proven ability to apply systems engineering, test engineering, and test operations expertise to a wide range of developmental subsystems and integrated architectures.
• Strong expertise in configuration control standards, methods and application to system modifications
• Ability to develop and present analysis results briefings to senior leadership
• Experience working with U.S. Air Force and/or U.S. Space Force customers
• Experience developing high-level project/work plans
• Clear and effective oral and written communications skills
• Must work well within a team environment to identify and apply best practices

Education:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field. A Master's degree in a similar field is highly desired.

Clearance Requirements:

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility

Desired skills:
• Working knowledge of DoD and Air Force acquisition processes and documentation relating to system development, weapon systems integration, and test and evaluation
• Knowledge of radio frequency, electro-optics, avionics, or related discipline(s)
• Data reduction and analysis expertise
• Working knowledge and practical application of hardware/software integration and testing in ground/flight laboratory environments
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools; with applicability to subsystem prototyping, system interfaces and performance predictions.
