Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.
Position Requirements
About This Role
As a User Experience (UX) Analyst intern, you will work in the Application Development area of the Information Technology Division and will provide support to software development teams working on a variety of automation projects. You will work closely with team members to help conduct research and propose design recommendations that meet end-user goals and needs.
What You'll Be Doing
User Experience Analyst interns support teams in
• Helping to conduct user research to identify user needs and goals, task flows, and stakeholder attitudes and requirements
• Assisting in preparing research findings and recommendations for appropriate audiences (stakeholders, development team, designers, etc.)
• Learning to apply principles of interaction design, including learnability, predictability, consistency, and feedback
• Learning the basics of accessibility and inclusive design and how it applies to websites and applications
• Developing an understanding of building front-end code prototypes, front-end design frameworks, and design systems, and much more!
Previous User Experience Analyst interns had the opportunity to contribute to projects related to
• Adobe Experience Design (XD) Branding Guidelines
• Workforce Development & STEM Engagement
• Individual User Experience Research Projects
• IT Division Website Redesign
Through these projects, you will gain experience user experience research and design, system development life cycle methodologies, to help determine if a career in user experience is for you.

US Citizenship is required for all Board internships and applicants must be current students, graduating from their program fall 2024 or later.
