The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Variable Hours Officer to work under the direction of a Principal Investigator's program investigating the efficacy of exercise on brain function and structure in older adults with kidney disease.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the PI and Project Director, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with recruitment and clinic interaction
  • Assisting with data collection, cleaning, and preparation
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as assigned
  • Support with manuscript preparation and submission, including conducting literature searches, manuscript writing and manuscript submissions
  • Attending all research-related meetings
  • Working closely with sites and study personnel
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Most of the duties will take place on site at the School of Nursing and the Columbia University Medical Campus.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have excellent computer skills
  • Team oriented
  • Two years of related experience.
  • knowledge of computer coding/scripting/programing in Bash highly preferred
  • A degree in psychology, pre-med, public health, nursing or related field will be given strong consideration.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (both written & verbal) skills.
  • Prior research experience and interest in neurocognition (course work are considered acceptable research experiences) is a plus.
