JOB SUMMARY :

Acoustic Engineers support new and existing aircraft acoustic package design through modeling and testing of acoustic materials and concepts. Assist in the resolution of acoustic and vibration issues in production aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop acoustic models using finite elements, statistical energy, or other analysis tools as appropriate
  • Perform materials, component, and / or vehicle level tests to inform or validate analytical acoustic models
  • Research new methods, materials, or devices for interior noise control
  • Design and propose acoustic treatment packages to achieve interior noise goals
  • Perform analysis and review experimental data in support of exterior noise assessments
  • Support resolution of noise and vibration issues on new and existing aircraft


EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE :

Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Applied Mathematics

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Programming experience with Matlab
  • Position requires occasional flying
  • Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required, Access and Project experience is desired

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
