JOB SUMMARY:

Interior Engineer interns are responsible for design, development and testing of aircraft cabin electrical equipment and their installations. Equipment may include switches, lighting, galley equipment or Cabin Management/Entertainment components. Design assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Manager with an emphasis on meeting and or exceeding customer requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates engineering drawing packages using Mentor Graphics or CATIA V6.
  • Uses technical skills and principles to develop solutions to common engineering problems.
  • Assist in the creation of test procedures and coordination of testing.
  • Support aircraft installation and troubleshooting
  • Works well in a cross-functional and diverse team environment.
  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products and processes


EDUCATION:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or other related degree.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous professional experience thru an internship or Coop is preferred.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
  • Builds and maintains constructive relationships
  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks


• Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

• Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks .

• Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
