Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, seeks full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to further expand services provided by the Section. Clinical duties include providing consultative infectious disease inpatient care, development of clinical protocols, and outpatient care. Direct patient care responsibilities include managing patients with general and complex pediatric infectious disease needs. Limited off-hours and occasional weekend coverage are expected. Other duties include teaching and supervision of trainees and medical students, and scholarly activity. Primary placement will be at Comer Children’s Hospital in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago and will include other locations contracted with the University of Chicago. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.

Comer Children’s Hospital is a full-service children’s hospital located in the heart of the city of Chicago. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
