Accounts Payable Specialist

A leading insurance company in San Diego, California, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Payables Specialist to join their growing team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of working mostly from home, with occasional in-person meetings each month. As part of a high-volume accounts payable team, you will play a crucial role in managing payments to insurance carriers after receiving customer payments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounts payable, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. Salary Range: $50,000 - $50,000 / year DOE

Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to handle high-volume payables and multitask effectively
• Proficiency in using EPIC or similar systems preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong team collaboration skills and a polished professional demeanor
• Experience with high-volume accounts payable is preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC or other proprietary systems is a plus
• Ability to analyze and review payment terms critically is preferred

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

• Responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts payable records
• Processes checks, generates monthly reports
• Handle high-volume transactions and check processing daily
• Research and resolve discrepancies related to payments and terms
• Review and analyze payment terms to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Conduct deep dives into payment information to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth operations within the department
