Position Overview

As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing our company's financial obligations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This position requires strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes. You will support our managers by taking responsibility for gathering information from vendors, operations team members, the financial system, and the sales team to assist with making payments and responding to requests from vendors and internal team members.

Position Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Maintain the accounts payable ledger
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Collaborate with internal departments to address inquiries related to accounts payable transactions
• Prepare reports related to accounts payable activities for management review
• Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and internal controls regarding financial transactions
• Support management by collaborating with them on relevant financial matters
• Issue purchase orders for inventory maintenance and for projects
• Identifying and resolving all vendor invoice/purchase order discrepancies
• Obtaining, reviewing, and entering debit memos, debit cancellations, vendor credit memos, and check requests in the system
• Communicating with both department managers and vendors to resolve outstanding payable issues
• Performing daily and monthly accounts payable reconciliations and reconciling monthly vendor statements

Position Compensation/Benefits

• Salary $52-65K, depending on experience
• Benefits plan including medical and dental (company pays 50% for employee)
• Paid Time Off

Requirements: 
Position Requirements

• At a minimum, must have a high school diploma, some college coursework or degree highly preferred
• Must have at least 2 years' experience in accounts payable with a strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively
• Familiarity with manufacturing accounting practices a plus but not required
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
