Why does the job exist?

This position will be responsible for the assisting the Budget Bureau within the Administrative Services Division with budget projections, oversight of Division budgets. This position will assist the Divisions in the compilation of both the operating budget and the appropriation request. The position will, at times, train other financial staff on budget management and oversight. This position will also be responsible for updating projections and forecasting revenue for the Department of Health. This position will review, compile, submit backup documentation and reconciliations for all projects to FEMA.

Who are the customers?

This position will work with financial staff, division directors and programmatic staff on any budgetary matters.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate must have experience in budget management, excel and the SHARE financial system. This position must be able to work independently and be able to handle competing priorities with strict deadlines. In addition, must have experience in formulating budget projections and forecasting revenue.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and five (5) years of directly related experience in budgeting, accounting and/or auditing. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
