The Division of Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking 2 full-time faculty members to expand and enhance its clinical & research program in pediatric rheumatic diseases (along with multiple other Research and Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professors). The Clinical Educator position (s) responsibilities are primarily clinical duties with the expectation to assume a divisional leadership position in system/ quality improvement in the upcoming years. Appropriate training will be provided as needed. Depending on a candidate's interest and prior accomplishments, there will be 20-40% protected time for research and/or leadership functions.
We also seek to recruit a Clinician Scientist with a strong commitment to becoming an independent investigator and leader in the field of pediatric rheumatology. Potential areas of research include, but are not necessarily limited to, clinical trials, precision-dosing of medications, environmental health, and the use of large datasets. Suitable applicants will have demonstrated outstanding (or the promise of outstanding) laboratory-based or patient-based investigative experience. Protected time for research will be 80% but opportunities for clinical service activities in pediatrics rheumatology are available, depending on the candidate's interests and training.
Currently, the Pediatric Rheumatology Division at CCHMC employs 12 clinical and research MD and/or PhD faculty, and is supported by a large group of nurses, physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists, a dedicated social worker and 16 clinical research coordinators. The division has six clinical and research fellows in training and takes on two new clinical fellows per year through an ACGME-approved and T32 supported fellowship program. Research activities are supported by two NIAMS P30 Clinical Core Centers. CCHMC Pediatric Rheumatology offers a full range of modern diagnostic techniques, including musculoskeletal ultrasound. We use a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose, treat, and manage the care of a variety of pediatric rheumatic diseases. Our division is internationally recognized for its research.
CCHMC is actively engaged in quality improvement with a strong commitment to provide the best quality of medical care to individuals with pediatric rheumatic diseases. Our research programs are supported by two P30 NIAMS Center of Research Excellence.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates for either of these faculty positions must have an D.O.; M.B.B.S; M.D.; or M.D., Ph.D. degree and,
ideally, will have completed at least three years of pediatric rheumatology fellowship training. Successful applicants will
have co-appointments at the Department of Pediatrics of University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. Faculty rank at
Assistant or Associate Professor, with the opportunity to enter the tenure track, will be determined based on
qualifications and experience.
