Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. Job Description

We are looking for data and analytics professional to join our Finance Department. This role is primarily responsible to build and maintain data infrastructure and analytical tools for support the department needs. The ideal candidate is driven, curious and a fast learner and has experience with data analysis and engineering. This role provides an opportunity to be a full stack data professional working with both engineering/modeling and analytical aspects of data while allowing to learn and work on both healthcare and financial data.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in development and maintenance of the Finance data repository to support business requirements for the department
• Assemble raw and disjointed data sets and transform into efficient data models that can be leveraged for tracking, reporting and financial operations
• Identify, design and implement process improvements, automating manual processes and optimizing operational efficiencies
• Build infrastructure (pipelines and automated processes) required for optimal extraction, loading and transformation of data from a wide variety of sources using SQL, python and/or other technologies as needed
• Work with cross functional stakeholders and partners to assist with data related issues and support their needs
• Prepare ad-hoc and recurring reporting and analyses and build analytical tools to support senior management and executive decision making
• Create reports and dashboards from EPIC and its data to provide visibility into key metrics and trends
• Create routine data validation rules and processes to ensure completeness and integrity
• As needed, assist with Financial reconciliations and planning with an eye towards automation to improve efficiencies
• Maintain clear, organized and complete documentation of data operations and curated datasets at all time to maintain operational resiliency and ensure the data is fit for purpose

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline with an emphasis on accounting and financial systems; and two (2) years of responsible-level experience in fiscal management or administration with an emphasis on financial systems, management information and controls, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity; or
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and three (3) years of experience, as described in "1" above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity.

Additional Qualifications
• Bachelors/Master's degree in computer science, data analytics, informatics or another related field and/or 3+ years of working with data in a relevant function (Finance, Operations, Analytics etc.)
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages, preferably Python (Automation, scripting, Pandas etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with of ETL/ELT and data pipeline processes and best practices
• Proficient with at least one data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI
• Advanced Excel skills. Experience with setting up models as well as Macros and VBA.
• Knowledge and experience working in Healthcare industry and data is preferred
• Detail orientated and willing to dive into raw, unstructured data
• Flexible and adaptable to meet evolving and diverse organizational needs
• Willingness to learn new datasets, tools and technologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
