Description

Performs senior level professional work by assisting with the preparation, modification, analysis, and reporting of the university's operating budget.
  1. Assists administrative and academic departments with establishing and maintaining operating budgets. Responds to budget issues and coordinates resolutions.
  2. Conducts budgetary analyses and projections. Prepares reports to assist management with planning and decision-making.
  3. Monitors and analyzes departmental operating accounts; reviews budget projections and compares to actual performance, making recommendations as necessary.
  4. Coordinates with departments and provides advice and training on budgetary policy, best practices, and procedural issues.
  5. Coordinates the gathering and analyzing of statistical information to project, evaluate and monitor the administrative functions of the university.
  6. Assists with the preparation of the biennial Legislative Appropriations Request; prepares supporting schedules for use by various state agencies.
  7. Coordinates activities related to producing the Annual Operating Budget and its supporting schedules.
  8. Responds to non-routine inquiries from campus personnel and may serve as a subject matter expert.
  9. May train, assist, or review the work of other Budget Analysts.
  10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 5 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.

Additional Job Posting Information
