Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is recruiting to fill multiple advanced level Civil Engineer Transportation positions located in the Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) offices in the Northwest Region!

These full time Permanent positions can be headquartered out of - Eau Claire or Superior.

Position Summary

Below are the positions NWR is recruiting for -
(8 Vacancies) Project Development Project Manager - The position acts as a Project Manager in the design and construction of transportation improvement projects, conducting activities related to scoping, developing, monitoring, and reporting project schedules, budgets, issues and resources. The Project Manager has primary responsibility for overall project quality.

(1 Vacancy) Construction Quality Assurance Engineer - As the Construction QA this position will review design plans for constructability to prevent change orders and claims, assist in meeting the estimate accuracy performance measure. This position will also be responsible for leading the active management of the effort to meet the Regions Finals Completion Performance Measure. This position also assist the Regions other Project Managers in negotiating and processing construction change orders. This position is also critical in the knowledge transfer to less experienced staff The position provides support for construction staff on construction issues as they arise and provides technical training through the year.

(1 Vacancy) Project Development Quality Assurance Engineer - As a member of the Project Controls team leading the construction Quality Assurance/Quality Control effort, perform highly responsible engineering administration work involving development, implementation and evaluation of policy for the statewide construction program. The responsibilities of this engineering position typically involve highly professional or technical judgments. The position assists the Region in the administration and evaluation of its transportation construction program, including quality control and assurance, analysis and resolution of claims and providing specialized expertise on construction techniques and problem solving.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $88,296 - $106,808, plus an additional $2,080/year for the Professional Engineer License and excellent benefits.

A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. However, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may at times need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have the following at the time of application:
  • A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
