This position is responsible to provide general administrative and operations support for the Network Contract Operations and Contracting function of Optum CA. This includes processing incoming and outgoing interdepartmental and US Mail, telephone support, monitoring of various departmental email and Teams channels and assisting the Team in other contract management activities.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2175 Park Place, El Segundo, CA 90245.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing US and Interdepartmental Mail including review, sorting, digitizing and routing to appropriate Team member based upon the specific request / inquiry.
  • Answer departmental telephone lines - ability to determine the essence of an inquiry and ability to route to correct team member / or provide requested information.
  • Monitoring departmental email and Teams channels - respond to requests using internal resource systems including email, Salesforce, Smartsheets, IDX, Symplr,
  • Assist Team in daily Triage Activities and special projects as necessary - using departmental tools (Smartsheet and/or Salesforce) to ensure that work is directed to correct Teammate,
  • Work is frequently completed without established procedures
  • Works independently
  • Will act as a resource for others
  • May coordinate others activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Managed Care environment - IPA, Physician Office, Hospital Administrative or other Health Care related industry.
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Ability to work full-time between 8:00am - 5:00pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Provider Relations or Claims experience.
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines.

California Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
