Description

  • Responsible for implementing targeted support to Early Learning schools in all core content areas. Early Learning Academic Coordinator interfaces and collaborates with campus administrators, district departments to create educational equity through a comprehensive support system for teachers and campus leaders.
  • This role includes providing direct content, pedagogy, data analysis, and instructional coaching support to improve teacher effectiveness and student outcomes. The Early Learning Academic Coordinator supports an assigned Early Learning Director to ensure curriculum alignment to foster accelerated student achievement and instructional capacity building for campus administrators.
  • Supports Dallas ISD's early childhood priority of ensuring every child is ready for kindergarten and every 2nd grader is reading on grade level. Recruiting more children in PreK is a districtwide initiative and one of the key levers to improving kindergarten readiness. Position will support the strategy and operations of early learning recruitment and enrollment, which involves marketing and communication, logistics, registration, etc. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
  • Represent the district's instructional philosophy and frameworks in all aspects of the position to include professional development, coaching, and curriculum support.
  • Provide feedback to Early Learning campus instructional leadership teams around instruction that facilitates reflection and growth.
  • Model and provide targeted feedback to campus content team members on coaching methodology and content related to the district's instructional program and student achievement and develop tools and resources to effectively evaluate content delivery, instructional practices, and teacher effectiveness.
  • Create, organize, and provide professional development to all elementary school's enrollment teams (Principals, Assistant Principals, Office Managers, CRC/Registers and Teacher Assistant) on how to create systems and procedures to provide excellent customer service, respond to family needs to support enrollment for Dallas ISD and process and qualify each child.
  • Use and coordinate quantitative and qualitative data from many sources to guide strategic decisions that align with district, department, and campus goals and initiatives.
  • Utilize district and CLI campus data to make informed decisions regarding the content of professional development.
  • Model and facilitate a variety of formative assessment methods including checklists, inventories, and more for data-driven instruction.
  • Support the enrollment team to implement strategic shifts in enrollment, including bringing elementary enrollment online, by collaborating with Dallas ISD departments, PowerSchool.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments and colleagues to support Early Learning schools and PreK Enrollment and Facilitate and support professional learning
  • community meetings at Early Learning schools and other teacher/campus administrators' meetings.
  • Utilize strategies to include but not limited to instructional models, resources, and coaching to deepen instructional practices.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience.
  • Understanding of curriculum, instruction and assessments
  • Ability to designed and create professional development to small and large audience
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to engage external parties and build relationships.
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with children and families from various demographic areas and diverse ethnicities.
  • Ability to support the improvement of a process over the course of multiple cycles. Ability to compile and process requests to completion by the established deadlines
  • Ability to create, implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms (print and electronic)
  • Knowledge of data systems, Microsoft programs (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), Google Drive and computer-based enrollment systems.
