The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Data Entry Specialist to join our team, the Harris County Inspire Program. Under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. The Data Entry Operator provides clerical and receptionist support for the administrative and program staff of the agency. The Data Entry Operator enters services data in accordance with departmental/organizational procedures into specific informational systems databases as well as into state agency data management systems. Position is also responsible for entering data, typing and filing.

Your role in action:
  • Enters all services data in specific The Harris Center's data systems as needed.
  • Maintains tracking spreadsheet of all staff submission of service data.
  • Resolves or appropriately refers questions, requests, complaints and problems.
  • Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintains professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both staff and
    consumers.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, professionalism and confidentiality in all activities.
  • Compiles with agency policy and procedures.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to read and comprehend written material and demonstrate basic literacy.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and demonstrate basic literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications.
  • Basic understanding of data processing.
  • Effectively communicates and works with consumers, family members, visitors and fellow
    employees in a manner that demonstrates awareness of cultural diversities.
  • Must have the ability to converse effectively with others.
  • Must be detailed and organized.
  • Proficient typing ability.

  • The Harris Center will leverage existing collaborations with local Independent School Districts (ISD) in the Precinct 2 area of Houston to organize five (5) colocation teams, addressing the mental and behavioral health needs of students within their academic environment, including Galena Park, Spring Branch, Pasadena, Alief, Goose creek, Aldine, and HISD (all districts with whom The Harris Center has a current memorandum of understanding). The Harris Center will work with the local precinct to identify specific campuses that need student mental health care. In addition to addressing acute needs, students and families will be referred for long-term support within our community-based clinics, including access to integrated health (physical/primary care). The Harris Center will have a goal of 150 students served in the Project. The BCBA position will assist with clinical support for this project
