The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Digital Communications Specialist to join our team! Under the general supervision of the Director of Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for building, cultivating, monitoring and growing a positive relationship with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the organization through Agency-wide communications. S/he will implement the Center's communication strategy, develop engaging content and will take proactive steps to enhance the Agency's brand while educating the community on mental health and IDD issues and supportive services provided by the Agency

Your Role in Action:
  • Films, produces and edits video content to promote services, programs and other initiatives.
  • Composes success stories on client interactions with The Harris Center's programs and services.
  • Creates and executes social media campaigns to create daily content that will increase online engagement, reach, brand awareness and positive online interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzes metrics and key performance indicators of all online platforms including the Agency website, intranet site and all official social media accounts including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and YouTube.
  • Researches and monitors trends to develop a weekly social media editorial calendar, setting benchmarks, goals and identifying target audiences.
  • Builds meaningful connections and encourages community members through creative, interactive and inspirational dialog and messaging.
  • Authors news posts and composes mass internal and external emails, aligning messaging with the organization's vision and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a communications, social media, journalism or marketing role.

Required Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to build strong, positive relationships with staff, managers, directors, physicians and executive leadership members to drive communication strategies and tactics.
  • Strong copy writing and editing skills, with a demonstrated ability to compose content materials with a nuanced understanding of industry-specific subject matter, company standards and procedural guidelines.
  • Knowledge of APA writing style and applying writing format in all communications.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator with strong emotional intelligence.
  • Exceptional social media management skills, with previous experience maintaining accounts for a large organization, including but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and YouTube.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs including Premiere, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Ability to manage the organization's website, intranet site, blog and other online web platforms.
  • Hyper organized with great attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated ability to work creatively and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment, working well under tight deadlines and to respond immediately to organizational concerns.
  • Ability to strategize engaging content for our target audience.
