Department Summary

The Center for Health Policy has three pillars: Research, Education and Community. These pillars are underpinned by health equity, the translation of research into policy and the practical and effective implementation of policies related to health. The Center focuses particularly but not exclusively on three broad areas: Tele-mentoring & Workforce Development, Rural Health and Whole Health.

Position Overview

This role will support the spectrum of strategic communication for the center. This includes, but is not limited to: website and social media development and maintenance, communication and relationship building with existing and new partners, community outreach and in-reach, event communications, operational communications for tele-mentoring models such as webinars, podcasts, and ECHO, and conceptualizing and developing new communication materials.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of UNTHSC personalities.
  • Ability to synthesize highly technical and scientific data and present it in a understandable format to a lay audience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Communications or related field
  • Experience with multiple strategic communication methods
  • Experience conceptualizing and developing new communication materials
